Colleen

I never knew Colleen while she was here on earth.
Even so, Collen has shown me how to be a better person.

Colleen was my great niece, my sister's grand-daughter.
My knowledge of Colleen was limited to a couple of brief visits and many photographs.
Images that showed a beautiful girl, with the most gorgeous eyes and the biggest smile.
Almost always surrounded by a loving family.

When Colleen was 23 year old, a tragic house fire ended her days on earth.
My heart bled in sympathy for my sister, for Colleen’s mother, brother and father;
and for all who knew and loved this beautiful girl.
As a tribute to Colleen a face book page was created.
A space on the world wide web, for friends and loved ones to met and share remembrances.

Here I read:
Colleen never, ever said anything bad about anyone, regardless of,
who they were, or how they treated her.
Colleen was famous for her hugs and her smile.
Her hugs chased the blues away.
The warmth of her embrace said,
she shared the joys of her friends and loved ones.
Her smile lit up the world,
spreading sunshine where-ever she travelled.

This girl was only 23 years old, and yet she knew.
There is no justification for being rude.
We really, do not, have any excuse for not loving each other ---
regardless

I never knew Colleen while she was here on earth.
but I am proud to say,
from beyond earth’s horizon,
Colleen shows the way....
